✦ Seasons of Spirit Series
There are seasons within us that mirror the turning of the earth. Just as the leaves shift from green to gold, our spirits move through cycles of blossoming, releasing, and resting.
Fall, in its quiet wisdom, reminds us that letting go is not failure. It is nature’s way of making room. The trees do not mourn their leaves; they release them into the wind, knowing that what falls returns to the soil, nourishing what comes next.
I think about how often I’ve resisted my own seasons. Holding on when I should have let go. Clinging to old stories, old roles, and expectations that no longer fit. The truth is, release has always felt like loss. But fall teaches me that release is also renewal.
🍁 Lessons from the Leaves
When the leaves let go, they don’t apologize. They don’t ask permission. They release simply because the season calls for it.
How often do we silence our own spirit to keep from disappointing someone else? How often do we keep carrying what has already withered?
🍂 Fall invites us to release with the same quiet courage as the trees.
🌾 Grounding in the Season
There is something sacred about standing barefoot in the cool earth this time of year. About breathing in the crisp air and letting it remind me that life moves in cycles — not straight lines.
Fall is not a time to rush forward. It is a time to ground, to listen, to trust. To believe that what looks like an ending may simply be the soil preparing for a new beginning.
🌙 Spirit and Ancestral Whispers
My ancestors remind me: the spirit does not wither with the leaves. It rests, it listens, it prepares. They teach me that release is part of the rhythm of survival and growth.
And so I honor this season not just for myself, but for them — allowing rest where they could not, creating space where they had none. In doing so, I remind my daughter that slowing down, letting go, and rooting deeply are sacred acts of strength.
Listen…
Fall whispers that rest is not laziness. Release is not weakness. Stillness is not emptiness.
🍂 Rest and release are not endings. They are beginnings in disguise.
